Be Encouraged.

Last Friday, the 14th, Chandler and I did our bi-weekly grocery shopping. I know, I know, I said I was going to go every week to capitalize on the weekly deals, but that just didn't work for me. So we're going bi-weekly, spending only a portion of our grocery budget and saving some for the next week in case there are super great deals. Okay, so on the 14th we spent about $60 and I have two weeks worth of meals. Keep in mind, two weeks for us is like 5 or 6 meals because of Chandler's work schedule.

Last night we went back to the store to capitalize on a sweet $10/10 deal and pick up a few other items. Because of all my coupon collecting, I got 10 tubes of toothpaste for $3. Coupled with a coupon for another item, our bill total plunged from $37 to $14.

74 dollars for two weeks worth of groceries out of our $120 grocery budget.

If I can do it, you can do it. Be encouraged.

I'll stop blogging about coupons one day. Maybe. It's just so awesome.

  1. Kelli I am so proud of you and Chandler for budgeting, meal planning and couponing. Howard and I have been doing the same for all of our married life (45 years). We are in a position in our lives where we would not have to do these things but it such a part of it that I can't imagine not doing it. Dave Ramsey says, "Live today like no one else and someday you will live like no one else". Make the sacrifices while you are young and it will pay off when you are old -we have experienced it - living debt free is the greatest freedom, outside of the spirtual freedom through Jesus Christ, that you can experience. Teach these principles to Miss Waverly and let her be part of the process and you will teach her well. We always taught our kids the principle of tithing and being good stewards of everything God has given us and we have seen it pay off for them. You two are being good stewards - don't lose your focus and watch the blessings continue to come your way. I pray for you and all the family and am always encouraged to see God at work in your lives. Love, Aunt Diane
